GUIMÃRAES is a Portuguese municipality with a long history of climate action and citizen involvement. Selected to be one of the EU 100 Climate Neutral Cities Mission, Guimarães was already strongly committed to reducing CO2 emissions, as a signatory of the Covenant of Mayors for Energy and Climate. The city focuses on the Local Governance pillar. Together with Energy Cities, it will identify the needs, disseminate the learnings locally, and organise one promotional and one dissemination event locally to engage with the Portuguese stakeholders.
