SPARKLE<\/strong> \u2013 Sustainable Planning and Resilience Knowledge Learning Environment<\/em> is a pioneering programme that develops the capacities of over 600 Local and Regional Authorities (LRA), helping to enhance their skills, through providing learning opportunities<\/a>, tools, support and inspiration to successfully develop and implement their clean energy transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Empowering local authorities with knowledge and tools<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cities are at the forefront of the fight against climate change<\/strong>. To mitigate the increasingly evident and severe impacts of climate breakdown and contribute to a more sustainable and greener world, we need well-equipped, engaged, and ambitious cities<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cities have the power to massively accelerate the clean transition but often lack resources, and tools. SPARKLE<\/strong>\u2019s capacity-enhancing activities, developed with and for local authorities, enables LRAs to successfully develop and implement their climate action plans. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n

Whether you work for a public authority, an environmental NGO, a university, or a community energy initiative, SPARKLE offers easy-to-use tools, tailored learning modules, and knowledge-sharing events designed to meet your specific needs<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are an officer or elected official<\/strong> within public authorities or energy agencies and feel overwhelmed or under-equipped to navigate the green transition, you\u2019ve come to the right place. SPARKLE helps you bridge the knowledge gap<\/strong> with a comprehensive, high-quality learning programme and series of in-person thematic summer and winter schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a local or regional policymaker,<\/strong> SPARKLE provides you with the tools and skills needed to develop efficient energy and climate plans <\/strong>and make informed policy decisions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are you part of the academic<\/strong> world? Join us in spreading the learnings <\/strong>from the programme and promoting the use of the open-source learning platform Local Transitions Learning Center<\/em> and tools! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An EU consortium composed of cities and sustainability experts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

SPARKLE\u2019s five focus cities are guided by technical partners in designing the learning content. This is based on a detailed needs assessment of not only the focus cities, but also the needs of LRAs in their regional and national networks. SPARKLE\u2019s focus cities are not only engaged in the development of the online and in-person training opportunities \u2013 they benefit from new knowledge and peer-to-peer exchange and recruit other cities to boost the achievement of climate neutrality<\/strong> in their countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
